Are you planning to go directly from high school to college? Great! Coming to UC Davis as a freshman gives you a chance to experience all the best aspects of college life. You'll have immediate access to all our educational and recreational resources. And you'll get the chance to make friends for life in our residence halls.
We offer more than 100 majors and academic programs, which are housed in four colleges: the College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences, College of Biological Sciences, College of Engineering and College of Letters and Science. As a top research university, UC Davis offers many opportunities to apply your academic knowledge to real world solutions, preparing you for your career or graduate school. More than half of our students work on a research project with a faculty member while they are undergraduates. You can take advantage of research opportunities as soon as your freshman year.
Our honors programs include living-learning options for first-year highly motivated students. We also offer more than 250 freshman seminars annually, which give you the opportunity to study a current topic of interest and sharpen your critical reasoning skills with UC Davis faculty in small, informal groups.
