In addition to traditionally defined majors such as English, chemistry and psychology, UC Davis has innovative cross-disciplinary majors such as nature and culture, technocultural studies, agricultural and environmental education.

Not sure what you want to study? Apply to UC Davis as an undeclared or exploratory major and discover what matters to you.

UC Davis Undergraduate Majors

Are your interests well defined but not falling within one of the majors UC Davis offers?

The Colleges of Letters and Science and Biological Sciences offer an individual major for students who want to forge their own academic path. Students with strong interests in more than one academic discipline may wish to consider a double major. All UC Davis colleges offer academic minors, as well.

What if I can't find the major I want?

Pre-professional

UC Davis does not offer pre-professional majors, such as "pre-vet," "pre-law," or "pre-med," but we offer majors that provide excellent preparation for professional schools. In consultation with an adviser, you can fulfill the admission requirements for the professional schools of your choice while studying what excites you.

Business

Students wishing to prepare for a business career at UC Davis will find what they're looking for in economics or managerial economics, one of the campus'most popular majors. We encourage students to think broadly about preparing for a business career!

Nursing

The Betty Irene Moore School of Nursing at UC Davis anticipates admitting its first students in master's and doctorate programs in fall 2009. The bachelor's in nursing program is expected to be launched in 2010 or 2011.
